Algae Culture Mediums
Algae are a large category that encompasses freshwater, brackish, saltwater, and brine. The characteristics of the strains can vary depending on different environmental parameters. Each strain has different optimal culture conditions.
Lifeasible offers a wide range of algal species in culture media with optimal nutrient quantity, nutrient quality, and salinity. By failing to maintain an acceptable pH, many cellular processes are disrupted, which may lead to the complete collapse of the culture. Although the pH range for most cultured algal species is between 7 and 9, with an optimal range of 8.2-8.7, the pH needed to do this in culture varies slightly from algae to algae. In the case of high-density algae cultures, the addition of CO2 can correct the increased pH, which may reach extreme values of up to 9 during algal growth.
In addition, we provide information on their cultivation characteristics and chemical composition collated for our customers' reference. Our algae cultural media are broadly divided into two categories, freshwater and seawater media. If you need more information about our cultural media, please contact us.
