The Brevetoxin plate kit is a competitive enzyme-labeled immunoassay. Brevetoxins (PbTx) are a group of cyclic polyether compounds generated by certain algae such as Karenia brevis. During algal blooms, K. brevis can produce large amounts of Brevetoxins, which then pose a significant health threat and are important to monitor and mitigate.
