Description:
This is one of the oldest Chlamydomonas mutants. It lacks eyespots and is easy to score microscopically for absence of the bright orange eyespot color. It was reported that the phenotype is expressed when cells are growing logarithmically, but as they reach stationary phase, eyespots are formed.
