Description:
From a cross of wild type 21 gr (NIT+) x a mt- strain ac17 thi2. This strain has the wild type alleles at the NIT1 and NIT2 loci and can grow on nitrate. The thi2 mutation is best scored by spot-testing on minimal medium. It may be necessary to repeat the test to get good results. Please see MUT-24 for more information on this mutation.
