From MUT-851 cw2 mt+ x MUT-124 wild type mt-. This cross was made to get a cw2 strain with better viability in crosses than the parent MUT-851. It's been reported that cw2 has a cleaner surface, with fewer adherent cell wall remnants, than cw15.
