This strain was derived by backcrossing a mt+ strain carrying the sr-u-sm2 streptomycin resistance mutation to a 137c- strain. It has been used as the parent strain for deriving many additional mutants. Please see MUT-215 for more information on the sr-u-sm2 mutation.
