Description:
This is isolate #6. MUT-2932 is a mt+ strain from the same soil sample. Both are interfertile with the standard laboratory strains. These strains lack the Gulliver transposon. This strain can grow on nitrate. Phylogenetic comparisons of this strain and other C. reinhardtii isolates have been made using introns in the Actin and Ypt 4 genes.
