Nitrosoguanidine-induced in wild type mt-. This is the original mutant. This strain has reduced levels of cyanide-sensitive respiration and no detectable cytochrome oxidase activity, but essentially normal mitochondrial ultrastructure. At last check, the strain still showed a very clean dark-dier phenotype.
