Description:
From a cross of MUT-125 x MUT-1861. MUT-1861 arg7 mt-, which is no longer in the collection, was itself a product of a cross of MUT-125 x MUT-51, a suppressed arg7 strain. When created, MUT-1861 was a clean, easily scored arginine-requiring strain, but it too eventually acquired a second-site suppressor. MUT-3681 has been stable, but should be retested before use.
