Description:
The osm11 mutant was obtained by insertional mutagenesis of a nit1-305 strain originally derived from MUT-2453, using a NIT1-containing plasmid pGP505. This strain was obtained by backcrossing the original mutant four times to wild type MUT-124 or MUT-125 and re-isolating. This strain should be maintained on TAP medium supplemented with 0.06 M sucrose or lactose.
