Description:
The osm16 mutant was obtained from phosphate-enriched culture of low-phosphate-uptake survivors of a UV-irradiated culture of wild type MUT-125. It was backcrossed three times with wild type MUT-124 or MUT-125 and re-selected. This strain should be maintained on TAP medium supplemented with 0.06 M sucrose or lactose.
