The osm19 mutant was obtained by UV-mutagenesis of MUT-1690 wild type mt+, backcrossed three times to wild type MUT-1690 or MUT-1691 and re-isolated. This strain should be maintained on TAP medium supplemented with 0.06 M sucrose or lactose.
