Description:
From a cross of MUT-1690 wild type mt+ (21 gr) to MUT-1170 y5 mt-. This cross was made to get a mating type plus and minus pair of strains that are stably yellow in the dark and can grow on nitrate. MUT-4034 is the mt- strain isolated from the same cross. Please see MUT-1169 for more information on the Y5 locus.
