Description:
This mutant is unable to perform phototaxis, and swims more slowly than wild type cells. The eyespot and photoshock response are normal. It was shown to have a defect in the f inner arm dynein complex. The phenotype and synthetic actions with other mutants are very similar to that of mia1 (MUT-4265), but the two mutations map to different linkage groups.
