To obtain near-isogenic lines, strain MUT-125 mt+ was crossed with MUT-124 mt-. A mt- progeny was back-crossed to strain MUT-125. This backcross was repeated 10 times. Strain 3D mt+ is a progeny from the tenth recurrent backcross.
