Description:
This mutant, which was isolated in the MUT-125 background, lacks the psbD gene and is unable to synthesize the D2 reaction center protein of photosystem II. In consequence, it cannot assemble any of the PSII-RC proteins, and cannot do PSII photochemistry. It requires acetate for growth.
