Description:
This strain was recovered from a cross between rbcL-L290F mt+ (MUT-4833) and rbcSΔ-CAL005.01.13 pf2 mt- (MUT-4693). It was used to investigate Rubisco rbcS2 small-subunit substitutions that complement an rbcL large-subunit substitution in the absence of the rbcS1 gene. The strain has been maintained with acetate medium in darkness since its recovery.
