This wild-type strain was used as the mt+ parent for production of wild-type strain 2137 mt+ (MUT-3269). The 21gr mt+ strain (MUT-1690) was originally selected for good growth in the dark from 137 mt+ strain. This strain has been maintained with acetate medium in darkness.
