Description:
The ift74-1 allele was identified in strain BB12 generated by insertional mutagenesis of strain D10 (MUT-124 background) with the 1.7 kb HindIII fragment of pHyg3. Strain ift74-1 is a product of two backcrosses of BB12 to MUT-125. ift74-1 expresses a truncated IFT74 protein lacking 196 aa from its N terminus. It assembles short flagella when maintained in M medium without aeration.
