Description:
The fdx5 mutant is disrupted in the second exon by a cassette conferring resistance to paromomycin. It was generated in the MUT-4425 (D66+) WT background and was backcrossed 4 times to either MUT-124 (mt-) or MUT-125 (mt+). The fdx5 mutant cannot grow in the dark, so it should be maintained on TAP medium in the light. Very low light (> 5 µmol photons m-2 s-1) is sufficient for growth of the fdx5 mutant.
