Description:
The nic1 mutation is one of the few genetic markers for linkage group XV. This strain has given relatively high lethality in some crosses, but is easy to score by sensitivity to 3-acetyl pyridine. It was demonstrated that this is a mutation in the gene encoding nicotinate-/nicotinamide-nucleotide adenylyltransferase.
