Description:
This mutant is easy to score, and is an excellent marker for the right arm of linkage group VI. The pf14 mutants lack radial spokes and are missing a set of 17 spoke-associated polypeptides. Dikaryon and revertant analysis was used to identify one of these as a probable gene product. The gene was subsequently cloned and sequenced confirming identity of the gene product as radial spoke protein 3.
