This strain was derived from a cross of a strain originally identified as ery21. This is a very useful strain for mapping on the right arm of linkage group I, easy to score as resistant to 100 micrograms/mL erythromycin on minimal medium. For more information on the ERY3 locus, please see MUT-73.
