MUT-803 lf2 mt+
Catalog No: ALS-01468
Product Details
Subategory:
Mutants
Description:
This mutant has abnormally long flagella, and swims slowly. The flagella are slow to regenerate after deflagellation. This is the original lf2 mutant, isolated by nitrosoguanidine mutagenesis in the 137c wild type background, and was originally designated NG13. Other alleles are known at this locus: see MUT-2287, MUT-2288, and MUT-2973. The LF2 locus corresponds to the CDKI1 gene encoding a novel cyclin-dependent kinase required for control of flagellar length. The protein is found predominantly, if not exclusively, in the cell body in punctate structures call the Length Regulatory Complex (LRC).
