Description:
This mutation was induced in the 137c background, using nitrosoguanidine as mutagen. It was found that the uvs1 mutant is blocked in dark excision of thymidine dimers. This is probably the uvs-1/B isolate, a minority population of the uvs1 cultures that had a wild-type response to oxygen deprivation, whereas most cells in the population were more sensitive to oxygen deprivation than wild-type cells.
