Festuca elata Transformation

Festuca elata Transformation

Festuca elata is a perennial groundcover plant of the grass family. Festuca elata has strong resistance to adversity, acid resistance, barrenness resistance. It is suitable for all kinds of lawns, and it is also suitable for highways, railroads, and disease resistance. Festuca elata, although it has a wide range of climatic and soil suitability and can be planted in most areas, needs to be further improved in terms of drought resistance and cold resistance. Although Festuca elata has a wide range of climate and soil suitability and can be planted in most areas, it needs further improvement in terms of drought resistance and cold tolerance. Conventional breeding techniques are time-consuming, inefficient, and have many limitations. The use of genetic engineering techniques to breed water-saving and cold-tolerant Festuca elata varieties has become a hot research topic.

Lifeasible is committed to providing comprehensive and reliable plant genetic transformation services. We use the Agrobacterium-mediated method to realize the genetic transformation of Festuca elata. Customers can give target genes, plasmids, Agrobacterium, etc., and we will complete the whole experimental process, from constructing vectors to obtaining transgenic seedlings for you.

What do we offer?

Varietal improvement of Festuca elata using genetic engineering techniques has been of great interest. Agrobacterium-mediated and gene gun transformation are the two most widely used methods for genetic transformation of turfgrass. Still, in terms of the current stability of transgene expression in Festuca elata, we found that the transformation method using Agrobacterium has more significant advantages.

We cultured Festuca elata healing tissues in a medium containing specific concentrations of plant growth regulators to obtain embryonic healing tissues and then co-cultured the obtained embryonic healing tissues with Agrobacterium tumefaciens containing plasmid vectors carrying exogenous genes, transferred the exogenous genes on the plasmid vectors to the genome of Festuca elata embryonic healing tissues, and then screened for resistant healing tissues and regenerated them to obtain the transgenic Festuca elata transgenic genes. Tissue regeneration to obtain the described transgenic Festuca elata plants. Our improved Agrobacterium-mediated method was further improved by further improvements, such as optimizing the induction of Festuca elata healing tissues and enhancing the culture method of Agrobacterium to improve the transformation ability of Agrobacterium to it, and finally obtained transgenic Festuca elata plants, which showed high efficiency, stability, and simplicity in Festuca elata transformation.
