Insect Hormone Detection

Insect Hormone Detection

Insect hormones are trace active substances produced by insect endocrine glands with functions of regulating insect growth and development. There are three main types of hormones: brain hormone, molting hormone, and juvenile hormone. Brain hormone is a hormone secreted by neurosecretory cells in the insect brain, which can regulate and control the secretion of ecdysone in the larval prothymus gland. Molting hormone is a chemical secreted by an insect's anterior thymus, the role of molting hormone is control molting and metamorphosis. The main function of juvenile hormone is to inhibit the metamorphosis of immature larvae, maintain the characteristics of insect juvenile, and make larvae still after molting.

Since insect hormones play an important role in the growth and development of insects, and have a wide range of applications, Lifeasible provides hormone testing services for insect samples to monitor the physiological state of your insects. We can provide testing services for juvenile hormone and molting hormones.

Our Services for Insect Hormone Detection

Service Content Methods
Molting hormone
  • The enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA)
Lifeasible offers the ELISA for the determination of insect hormones to meet different hormone tests like molting hormone and two types of juvenile hormone. We use a solid-phase type of enzyme immunoassay (EIA) to detect the presence of a ligand (commonly a protein) in live insect samples using antibodies directed against the protein of hormone to be measured with several advantages like conveniently and less time.
  • High-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC)
We also offer HPLC to detect hormone in live insect samples. This method makes insect molting hormone and juvenile hormone can be identified to separate, identify, and quantify each component in a mixture. The samples are separated by high performance liquid chromatography and identified by evaporative light scattering detector or DAD detector for efficient and accurate determination of insect hormones. Using HPLC to detect insets' hormone is accurately.

Sample Requirements

Insect hormone detection can be used for live insect samples. The number of samples is not less than 9. Each sample weights 1 mg or more.

Advantages

  • The results of hormone detection are pretty accurate.
  • Providing the data with separate samples at the same time quickly.
  • It is pretty convenient to detect the hormone in insect samples and get the test data fast.

Lifeasible provides insect hormone detection include two types of juvenile hormone and molting hormone with accurately data, identified samples separately and conveniently and less time by our professional team.
