Zeta potential refers to the potential at the shear surface and is an essential indicator of the stability of a colloidal dispersion system. Most of the particles dispersed in the solvent are mainly ionized by the surface groups or adsorbed by charged particles to obtain a surface charge, which will attract the surrounding heterogeneous charges in the solvent and form a double layer at the junction of the two phases, i.e., the so-called double layer model - Stern double layer. The interface between the compact layer (Stern layer) combined with a certain internal diffusion layer and the dispersed medium moves relatively is called the sliding surface. The potential of the particle surface when the potential drops to the sliding surface are called Zeta potential; that is, Zeta potential is the potential difference between the continuous phase and the stable fluid layer attached to the dispersed particles.
