Mushroom Compost as a Feed Additive

Inquiry

Mushrooms can increase poultry resistance to disease by providing micronutrients, and mushrooms used in animal feed can potentially improve animal performance and health.

Lifeasible offers a research service for mushrooms in poultry feed additives. By studying the use of mushrooms in feed additives, we can support the improvement of animal immune function, improve feed utilization efficiency and promote poultry growth. At the same time, the use of mushrooms as feed additives can prevent pathogen resistance in poultry as a result of antibiotic misuse, reduce chemical residues and enhance poultry productivity and food safety.

Our Services

Mushrooms can be grown for mass production. They are low in fat and high in protein and fiber. Our scientists are currently focusing on the use of mushrooms and mushroom wastes as a source of poultry feed. We are also analysing the impact of mushroom additives on animal growth, performance and quality. Lifeasible continues to develop the potential for large-scale mushroom feed production and is committed to providing specialist solutions for mushroom feed applications. Some of the services we offer include but are not limited to the following:

  • Mushroom feed safety assessment
Animal feed plays a vital role in global food security and aims to ensure sustainable production of safe and affordable animal protein. Hazards from fungal feed sources are tested and rigorously analyzed to ensure animal feed safety. We focus on assessing arsenic and lead bioaccumulation.
  • Mushrooms in chicken feed
Mushrooms can improve broiler production and improve chicken growth performance. We can evaluate the health effects of mushroom feed on chickens (i.e. gut microbiota status and gut lipid distribution). The effect of mushroom feed on improving animal performance (i.e. weight gain and egg production) has also been evaluated.
  • Mushrooms in pig diets
We added mushrooms to pig feed to improve feed efficiency. The antioxidant content of pork is assessed in relation to its iodine content.
  • Feed production
The waste material from mushroom cultivation is rich in mushroom protein and crude fat, with a nutritional value equivalent to rice bran and a low crude fiber content. This makes it highly effective for processing into mushroom bran for pigs. We offer mushroom compost processing services. The specific process is as follows:
