About Agrocybe aegerita

Agrocybe aegerita is a rare edible mushroom that grows naturally on the dead trunk or guan of old oil tea trees. It is a rare and valuable resource. It is characterized by its delicious taste, aromatic smell, and rich nutritional value. It is a high protein, low fat, fungal polysaccharide rich, relatively high mineral content, and highly nutritious edible mushroom.

Agrocybe aegerita is mainly found in the northern temperate zone but is also found in subtropical areas, while it is rare in the tropics, where extremely cold and hot climatic conditions are unsuitable for development. Under natural conditions, the fungus grows in and around the roots of decaying trees in small-growth oil-tea forests, with the growing season concentrated around spring and summer, and mid-autumn. It is more common in regenerating forests after old growth is logged. Because of the hardwood and slow decay rate of tea trees, the tea tree mycelium growth cycle is particularly long.
