Emerson YSS Agar is recommended for the isolation of Actinomycetes and other fungi.

Cream to pink homogeneous free flowing powder
Characteristic
Cultural characteristics observed after an incubation at 30 centigrade for 40-72 hours.
Reaction of 4.05% w/v aqueous solution at 25 centigrade. pH : 7.0±0.2.
Storage
Store below 30 centigrade in tightly closed container and the prepared medium at 2 - 8 centigrade.
Instructions
Suspend 40.5 grams in 1000 ml distilled water. If desired, half strength medium can be prepared using 20.25 grams in 1000ml distilled water. Heat to boiling to dissolve the medium completely. Sterilize by autoclaving at 15 lbs pressure (121 centigrade) for 15 minutes. Mix well and pour into Petri plates.
