Sabouraud Chloramphenicol agar is recommended for selective cultivation of yeasts and moulds.

Characteristic
Cultural characteristics observed after an incubation at 20-25 centigrade for 48-72 hours (Incubate for 7 days for Trichophyton species).
Reaction of 6.5% w/v aqueous solution at 25 centigrade. pH : 5.6±0.2.
Storage
Store between 15-25 centigrade in tightly closed container and the prepared medium at 2 - 8 centigrade. Use before expiry date on the label
Instructions
Suspend 65.05 grams in 1000 ml distilled water. Heat to boiling to dissolve the medium completely. Sterilize by autoclaving at 15 lbs pressure (121 centigrade) for 15 minutes. Mix well and pour into sterile Petri plates. Caution: Some pathogenic fungi may produce infective spores which are easily dispersed in air, so examination should be carried out in safety cabinet.
