Coliform Detection Board (5)

Coliform Detection Board (5) is designed for the detection of coliform.

Coliform Detection Board (5) contains selective medium, specific enzyme chromogenic agent and macromolecule bibulous gel. This product is suitable for counting the quantity of coliform in food, milk, cold drinks, condiments and other raw materials; also it’s suitable for hygiene detection of instrument surface. Coliform colony shows blue on the detecting board after cultivation. Select the detecting boards which the coliform quantity is between 15 CFU and 150 CFU to do the counting. Multiply the average number of coliform on two detecting boards by the dilution multiple, report it as estimated CFU/g or CFU/mL.

1, The PH value of sample solution should be between 6.5 and 7.5, adjust the PH value with aseptic 1 mol/L NaOH solution if necessary.
2, Dispose the used detecting boards timely according to the biology safety waste treatment rule, because there are live bacteria on them.
3, If the coliform numbers on detecting boards of every dilution ratio are less than 15 CFU, count the average number of coliform on detecting boards of the minimum dilution, then multiply it by the minimum dilution multiple, report it as estimated CFU/g or CFU/mL.
4, If no colony was found on the detecting boards from all dilutions of sample, report the count in terms of less than one multiply the minimum dilution multiple.
5, If the coliform quantity of the maximum dilution is more than 150 CFU, count a half or a quarter of the coliform number on detecting boards of the maximum dilution, then multiply it by 2 or 4, report it as estimated CFU/g or CFU/mL.

It is better to place this product in the refrigerator at 4-10 ℃, and the expiration time is one year.

Coliform is one of the crucial indicators to evaluate the sanitary quality of food and water. It has been widely used for the detection of food hygiene. Coliform mostly exist in feces of warm-blooded animals and the places that contaminated by feces. The quantity of coliform indicates the level of food contamination in the process of food production.
