Campylobacter jejuni TaqMan PCR Kit

Campylobacter jejuni TaqMan PCR kit is designed for the detection of Campylobacter jejuni in food.

Campylobacter jejuni is a curved rod-shaped microaerophilic Gram-negative bacterium. C. jejuni is a zoonotic pathogen that can cause a variety of diseases in humans and animals, and is a food-borne pathogen that is considered a major cause of bacterial diarrhea in humans worldwide. More than 2 million people are infected each year in the United States alone. C. jejuni infection usually results from eating uncooked food, including undercooked meat (especially poultry), untreated water, or raw, unpasteurized milk. Traditional identification of C. jejuni involves culture, however the microaerophilic nature of this bacterium makes the enrichment process laborious and expensive.

Campylobacter jejuni TaqMan PCR Kit is designed for the detection of Campylobacter jejuni-specific DNA in foods. The detection of this kit is based on TaqMan PCR, which is simple, reliable and fast. And the kit includes Master Mix, primer and probe mix for target and PCR control detection, as well as positive and negative controls (nuclease-free water) to confirm the integrity of the kit's reagents.

Each Campylobacter jejuni TaqMan PCR Kit is tested against predetermined specifications to ensure consistent product quality.

If the reagents are to be used only intermittently, they should be frozen in aliquots.

All reagents can be stored for 1 year at -20℃ without showing any reduction in performance.

This product should be stored at -20℃ upon arrival. Repeated thawing and freezing (> 2 ×) of the Master Mix, Control Master Mix and Positive Control should be avoided, as this may affect the performance of the assay.

Follow general precautions. All specimens should be considered potentially infectious and handled accordingly.
1. Take protective measures.
2. Use sterile pipette tips.
3. Use aseptic technique.
4. Do not use consumables and equipment in dedicated areas for i) sample extraction, ii) reaction setup, and iii) amplification/detection.
5. Store and extract positive material (specimens, controls, and amplicons) separately from all other reagents.
6. Dispose of unused kit reagents and samples according to local, provincial or federal regulations.
7. The presence of PCR inhibitors may lead to false negative or invalid results. Potential mutations within the targeted region of the Campylobacter jejuni genome covered by the primers in this kit may result in the undetectable presence of the pathogen.
8. Ensure that proper specimen collection, transport, storage, and handling techniques are followed to achieve optimum performance of this test.
