Product Name
Listeria monocytogenes TaqMan PCR Kit Dx
Product Overview
Listeria monocytogenes TaqMan PCR kit Dx is designed for the detection of Listeria monocytogenes in food.
Antigen Description
Listeria monocytogenes have emerged as significant foodborne pathogens that pose a serious public health problem. As the causative agent of Listeriosis, L. monocytogenes has the highest fatality rate among all foodborne pathogens. L. monocytogenes is a facultatively intracellular, Gram-positive bacterium. Due to its ability to survive high and low temperatures as well as low pH, it could resist various food processing technologies. L. monocytogenes is known to be associated with raw meat, unpasteurized milk and dairy products, vegetables, and seafood. As little as 1000 organisms may cause the disease with pregnant, new-born, and immunocompromised individuals being the most susceptible.
Description
Listeria monocytogenes TaqMan PCR Kit Dx is an in vitro diagnostic test for the detection and quantification of Listeria monocytogenes-specific DNA using real-time hybridizationfluorescence detection. The kit includes Master Mix for target and PCR control detection , Primer & Probe Mix, and positive and negative controls (nuclease-free water) to confirm the integrity of the kit reagents.
Species
Listeria monocytogenes
Quality Control Test
Each Listeria monocytogenes TaqMan PCR Kit Dx is tested against predetermined specifications to ensure consistent product quality.
Notes
If the reagents are to be used only intermittently, they should be frozen in aliquots.
Stability
Repeated thawing and freezing (> 3 ×) of the Master Mix and Positive Control should be avoided, as this may affect the performance of the assay.
All reagents can be used until the expiration date specified on their labels.
Storage
All kit components should be stored at -20℃ upon arrival.
Warning
Follow general precautions. All specimens should be considered potentially infectious and handled accordingly.
1. Take protective measures.
2. Use sterile pipette tips.
3. Use aseptic technique.
4. Do not use consumables and equipment in dedicated areas for i) sample extraction, ii) reaction setup, and iii) amplification/detection.
5. Store and extract positive material (specimens, controls, and amplicons) separately from all other reagents.
6. Dispose of unused kit reagents and samples according to local, provincial or federal regulations.
7. The presence of PCR inhibitors may lead to false negative or invalid results. Potential mutations within the targeted region of the Listeria monocytogenes genome covered by the primers in this kit may result in the undetectable presence of the pathogen.
8. Ensure that proper specimen collection, transport, storage, and handling techniques are followed to achieve optimum performance of this test.
