Product Name
Salmonella enterica TaqMan PCR Kit
Product Overview
Salmonella enterica TaqMan PCR kit is designed for the detection of Salmonella enterica in milk.
Antigen Description
Salmonella enterica has become an important foodborne pathogen that seriously threatens public health. S. enterica is a facultative anaerobic Gram-negative bacterium that can survive low temperature and freezing conditions. Most of the 1.3 billion human gastroenteritis cases caused by Salmonella each year are due to ingestion of contaminated foods such as raw or undercooked meat, seafood and eggs, and raw or unpasteurized milk and dairy products. Salmonella can also be contracted after eating fresh fruit or vegetables contaminated with infected fertilizers. Symptoms of salmonellosis may include diarrhea, fever, vomiting, and abdominal cramps, with the elderly, newborns, and immunocompromised individuals most susceptible.
Description
Salmonella enterica TaqMan PCR Kit is designed for the detection of Campylobacter jejuni-specific DNA in foods such as milk. The detection of this kit is based on TaqMan PCR, which is simple, reliable and fast. Includes Master Mix, Primer & Probe Mix for target and PCR control assays, and positive and negative controls (nuclease-free water) to confirm kit reagent integrity.
Species
Salmonella enterica
Quality Control Test
Each Salmonella enterica TaqMan PCR Kit is tested against predetermined specifications to ensure consistent product quality
Notes
If the reagents are to be used only intermittently, they should be frozen in aliquots.
Stability
All reagents can be stored for 1 year at -20℃ without showing any reduction in performance.
Storage
This product should be stored at -20℃ upon arrival. Repeated thawing and freezing (> 2 ×) of the Master Mix, Control Master Mix and Positive Control should be avoided, as this may affect the performance of the assay.
Warning
Follow general precautions. All specimens should be considered potentially infectious and handled accordingly.
1. Take protective measures.
2. Use sterile pipette tips.
3. Use aseptic technique.
4. Do not use consumables and equipment in dedicated areas for i) sample extraction, ii) reaction setup, and iii) amplification/detection.
5. Store and extract positive material (specimens, controls, and amplicons) separately from all other reagents.
6. Dispose of unused kit reagents and samples according to local, provincial or federal regulations.
7. The presence of PCR inhibitors may lead to false negative or invalid results. Potential mutations within the targeted region of the Salmonella enterica genome covered by the primers in this kit may result in the undetectable presence of the pathogen.
8. Ensure that proper specimen collection, transport, storage, and handling techniques are followed to achieve optimum performance of this test.
