Usage
To prepare the control, use the same sample extract buffer required for the test in which the control will be used. The volume, in milliliters, under “Contents” on the lyophilized control label is the amount of sample extract buffer required to prepare the control. Add this amount of sample extract buffer to the vial and mix by shaking gently. Lyophilized controls are provided in a vial large enough to hold the prepared liquid.
After preparing the control, divide it into aliquots, each sufficient for one use. If you will be using this control in one well each time you run the test, prepare 120 µl aliquots. If you will be using the control in two wells, prepare 220 µl aliquots.
Remove one control aliquot from storage and allow to thaw. At the time you add sample extracts to test wells, add the same volume of prepared control to the appropriate control well. Do not refreeze controls.
Notes
Positive controls may contain more than one virus. These positive controls are recommended for ELISA tests only. Some positive control vials containing bacteria may look empty, but they are not. Control aliquots must be stored frozen (-20 centigrade freezer or household freezer). Do not thaw until just before use.
