Mammalian cells and tissues are commonly dissociated using trypsin, an enzyme from the porcine pancreas. The concentration of trypsin required to separate cells from their substrate depends on the cells' sensitivity. The product is a ready-to-use solution (1X). It contains EDTA and phenol red.
