In Vitro
Methyl 5-hydroxypyridine-2-carboxylate (compound 2) inhibits NO in LPS-stimulated RAW264.7 and BV2 cells, with IC50s of 115.67 and 118.80 μM, respectively. Methyl 5-hydroxypyridine-2-carboxylate (6.25-200 μM) does not exhibit any cytotoxic effect.
