Hailing from the Rocky Mountains, this high alpine Boykinia relative boasts cherry-red flowers held above leathery, scalloped leaves in early spring. Long-lived in the rockery or alpine trough, it prefers lean, gritty soil or scree in full sun with a cool root run.
