It might be a slight disappointment to some children, and indeed, plenty of adults, that the only similarity to chocolate is in the colour. However, these compact plants produce bumper crops of deliciously sweet, mini peppers, that mature from green to a rich, chocolatey-brown colour.These well known, versatile fruits are great in salads, fried, stuffed, grilled and barbecued. But did you know they are packed full of vitamins A, B and especially C (even better than oranges would you believe) as well as antioxidants? Grow them in the greenhouse or in a sheltered, sunny spot in the garden.
