Description

Delonix regia, known as the "Flamboyant" or royal poinciana, is a distinctive deciduous tropical tree with fern-like leaves and large clusters of bright red and scarlet-orange blossoms. Native to Madagascar, it produces enormous pendulous seed pods, and its genus name refers to the conspicuous and claw-like appearance of its flowers.
