Boasting almost stemless lavender-blue powder puff flowers, this plant forms hummocks of deep green lustrous foliage, creating dense mats with year-round appeal. Thriving in gritty, sharply drained soil, it finds its best habitat in rock gardens, scree beds, alpine houses, or troughs. With very few good seeds collected, it remains a rarity that captures attention.
