Description

Tall spires adorned with large, silky, almost black trumpets make this hollyhock a striking specimen. Left to self-seed, the resulting flowers are among the most magnificent. Beyond aesthetics, the flowers, with the calyx removed, serve medicinal purposes as a demulcent. Historically, hollyhocks have found application in various medications and as dye plants.
