The wonderfully dark velvety iris unfolds extraordinarily large flowers, featuring dark red-purple standards and broad purple falls with white at the base of each petal. As one of the largest Iris sibirica forms, its seedlings may vary, but all should be splendid. After blooming, the grass-like foliage stands upright, creating one of the garden's most attractive features.
