With a bulb resembling a turnip, this odd-looking plant from the cabbage family, known as 'turnip cabbage,' offers a mild, sweet flavor between a turnip and a water chestnut. Available in pale green and less-common purple, the latter is later and hardier, reaching significant proportions.
