Once deemed an aphrodisiac, the rare "Mandrake" exhibits poisonous traits in all parts, particularly the large, yellow, tomato-like fruits succeeding brown and yellow flowers. Two species exist, with this one flowering in autumn and Mandragorum officinalis in spring. Despite numerous open flowers, very few yield viable fruits, contributing to the plant's high price. Traditionally, a dog pulling up the man-like roots reputedly caused a fatal scream.
The number of seeds per packet is only an approximation, but will not vary much. Please inquire online before placing your order.
