Description

Despite its historical aphrodisiac reputation, the rare "Mandrake" with yellow, tomato-like fruits following brown and yellow flowers is poisonous in all parts. Flowering either in spring or autumn, the plant, Mandragorum autumnalis, is a source of hallucinogenic and pharmaceutical chemicals, and its high price is attributed to the scarcity of viable fruits.
