Description

Greenish-yellow flowers open from a central bud between two diametrically opposite broad, fleshy, leathery leaves. This unique species, native to the dry areas of the South African Cape and Namaqualand, aims to attract pollinating rodents with yeasty odors and jelly-like nectar.
