Unearthed in the Andes of Colombia at approximately 1800 m, this remarkable monster, a rapid and awe-inspiring growth from a single seed, represents the rare giant Nicandra shrub. Within a few weeks, it transforms into a towering 3 m spectacle, boasting enormous leaves and far larger flowers and fruits compared to its common, smaller relative, Nicandra physalodes. A guaranteed unique and stunning addition, aptly named the "shoo-fly plant" for its supposed fly-deterring qualities.
